Farewell France

Today is our last day in France. I took the kids to Luxembourg Gardens one last time. It's such a great park and both the kids had a blast. This trip has been amazing. I have fallen in love with Paris. I love all the cafes and parks that are everywhere. The kids have done really well, and we are definitely up for more international trips. I'm so glad we have gotten to be here for three weeks. We got to see so many things. I feel comfortable here with the kids and it always feels safe when we walk around. Now I need to clean the apartment. Our taxi is picking us up at 6:30 am so we need to do all the cleaning tonight. Au revoir!

Paris Zoo

Yesterday we went to the zoo with the kids. It was a really nice zoo and they had some great animals. Unfortunately both of our kids are currently in the running for America's next top whiny butt so it wasn't much fun. Asher wanted to play with his cars, but he kept throwing them so we took them away. He did not appreciate this decision and vocalized his opinion for the rest of the day.
The turtles were really cool, but my favorite animal of the day was the porcupine. I did not get a chance to take any pictures of them.

Boat Ride

There are so many ways to see Paris, and one of them is a boat tour on the Seine. We picked one where you could get on and off all day. We went around in the morning and went back on at night. Asher had a lot of fun running around and looking at the water. On our night trip we stopped off at this amazing garden.

Dalias are one of my favorite flowers. I grow them at home. They had so many different kinds here.
At one section of the gardens there was a spiral labyrinth of hedges up to a gazebo. This was Asher's favorite part of the day. He was very upset when we had to leave.

I really enjoyed being on the boat. The bridges were so pretty. Asher loves to look at the tower.

Sacre Coeur

We went to Sacre Coeur (Sacred Heart) a few days ago. It's this amazing church on top of a mountain. We walked all the way to the top and around inside the church. Asher hasn't really mastered the concept of being quiet yet, so we didn't stay inside too long.

We walked down the hill a different way, and it was really pretty.

Of course the day wouldn't be complete for Asher unless there was a carousel ride and a park. Luckily we were able to find both.

Bastille Day

Yesterday was France's independence day. In the morning we went to the Louvre. It was extremely crowded. Piper and I did manage to see the Mona Lisa. I really wish they would ban photography in these museums. So many people were trying to get shots, and it prevented others from actually seeing the paintings. We went through the section that had Napolean's apartments. This was my favorite part. It was incredible so see all the detail throughout the rooms.
After nap time we headed out again. We went to a little park for a while.

We picked an Indian restaurant for dinner. Asher and Piper both loved the curry.
We missed the parade in the morning, but during dinner all the military trucks went by. Asher was very excited!

Cemetery

I have never understood why people become scared in cemeteries. Growing up I lived right down the road from one and it was a great place to skate around or ride our bikes. Our apartment here in Paris is close to a famous cemetery. We walked over to it yesterday. It is very different than cemeteries in the states. The graves are more ornate and close together. The man who designed the Statue of Liberty is buried here.

This was a crazy figure on top of the grave. It looked like a large bird. We also saw a grave that had the date death as 2038. We figure it must be a psychic, and it was really odd to see.
Piper enjoyed being pushed around, but she gets frustrated when we don't let her get down and play. I really hope she starts walking soon, I think she will be much happier.

Le Jardin D'Acclimatation

Yesterday we went to this amazing park. It had a zoo and rides and the water part. It was so hot outside so it was nice to be able to get cooled off. Asher wasn't a huge fan of the water, but Piper really liked it.

Asher enjoyed putting his hands in it.
There were numerous playgrounds and Asher had a blast climbing all over them.

Piper hung out in the stroller a lot and was happy as long as she was getting food. She isn't walking yet, but really wants to get down and play.

Right before we left we got misted off. Piper thought it was awesome.

Asher once again loved the rides.
