And the winner is...

Melody!!! Thanks to random.org Melody is the winner. Thanks for all the comments. They made my day! I'm bummed that Nate has our camera because I want to show a picture of the prize. It is a wallet. I discovered how to make super cute ones. I will post some pictures when Nate gets back. For all of you wondering, it is awesome having Nate away and having the kids all to myself. I think what I am looking forward to the most about him coming home is taking a shower all alone. Asher is OBSESSED with balloons. Yesterday we blew up almost 20 of them and he is having a blast with them around the house. This morning I was feeding Piper and then I went to get a shower. I opened up the shower door and there were about 15 balloons inside. I looked at Asher and he said "wash balloonies". Needless to say I took my shower with Asher, about 10 cars, and half a dozen balloons.

Contest

I started to do this blog a few months ago. I was excited to share stories and pictures about the kids. Do you know the feeling when you haven't checked your e-mail for a while and get so bummed when you realize you don't have any new messages. It's them same thing for me when I check the comment section and there are none. I know there are people that are reading this blog, but you can't stay hidden anymore. I have a way to draw your out. Here is the contest. All you have to do is leave a comment. Tell me if you read the blog a lot, or even if this is your first visit. I promise two things in return. I will post more often, with great pictures and funny stories. Well, stories just for now because Nate is in Utah for a few weeks and he brought the camera with him. The other promise is a great prize. I will pick randomly in one week.

Friends

One of the biggest changes in the last year with Asher is his interaction with friends. I remember learning in college about how young toddlers do parallel play, meaning they play at the same time, but aren't really interacting with each other. Asher is just beginning to really play with his friends. For some reason the dog crate is what all the kids play in when they come over. Piper on the other hand has befriended her feet. She loves to talk to them and put them in her mouth. She also tries to eat them as a distraction form eating her veggies.

Christmas

I know this post is a little late. I could give you wonderful excuses about how hectic life it, but it's mostly due to laziness. We have been busy since getting back a few weeks ago. Asher started potty training. Instead of cleaning up poopy diapers on a regular basis I am now cleaning up a poopy floor on a regular basis. Piper is eating solids now. She is quite a champ at it. She is seven months now and is perfecting the army crawl (if you would like details about her first crawling adventure feel free to contact me, I'll give you a hint it involves the pooping incident mentioned previously). We spent Christmas day at my parents in PA. As soon as Asher saw the balloons in his stocking he had no desire for anything else.
Four generations of women!

Asher did not agree when I told Mum Mum that batteries were a good stocking stuffer.

Play time

As Piper has gotten more mobile Asher has started to enjoy playing with her. He still doesn't understand the concept of gentleness yet, but she doesn't seem to mind his craziness.

Getting into trouble

We are currently in York staying with Nate's parents. They have a fish tank which Asher loves. On the first day he decided the fish looked hungry and dumped the entire bottle of fish food in the tank. Today he thought they looked a little bored and wanted some cars to play with.

Piperonni

Pipes is fascinated with her hands and feet right now. They are always in her mouth.
Piper got to meet her cousin Isabella for the first time this Christmas. They are three weeks apart, and Bella lives in Australia.

More Montreal

Asher surprised us all by sleeping so well in the Pack n Play all week. He loved throwing his toys and balloons inside and playing around. This is the Niphakis family.

Cold, Cold, Cold

On one of the days we were in Montreal we hiked up to the top of Mount Royal. It overlooks downtown Montreal. It was one degree outside and so very cold. Asher found someone walking with his dogs and thought they were great.

Northern Vacation

We have been traveling the last few weeks. We started in Pennsylvania and headed up to Montreal. We are staying in York for a few days before we head back to the south. I will be doing quite a few new posts in the next few days. They will probably be out of order. Piper has changed so much lately. She is very close to being able to crawl.
