The Night Before

I have such vivid memories of Christmas Eve as a kid. We would always be off of school and my best friend would come over. We would all talk about what we thought would be under the tree the next morning. The day would be spent eating cookies and we were all so giddy with anticipation. I also remember the day before my wedding so clearly. I dreamed about my wedding and getting married for so long and it was almost here. I wanted to savor every minute. Those are the only two days I can compare to today. Tomorrow morning I am going in for a C-section. I had an emergency one with Asher, and the rest of the kids have been planned C-sections. Tomorrow I get to meet this little baby. I get to fall in love with another tiny person. I can't wait to see who it is that I have wanted and loved for all these months. The last few days have been such a mixture of emotions. I'm so excited, but for the first time sad at the thought of being at the end. This is our last baby, and it's hard to think about never experiencing this again. I'm so grateful for the family Nate and I have made together, and for one more to be added.

11 Days

I am having this baby in 11 days. I have a car seat and some clothes washed...so I guess I'm ready. We don't know what room this one will be in, so I haven't done anything in preparation. I do have an overwhelming desire to see that the garage is completely cleaned.

My prediction is that we are having a boy. I'm thinking a dark haired tiny boy. I'm putting a poll up to see what you guys think. Feel free to comment about what you think he or she will look like. It's fun having such a variety of looks amongst our kids.

Soccer

Asher and Piper and both playing soccer right now. It's nice that they can be on the same team. The coach is great and they are having so much fun.

I thought Piper doing ballet was cute, but I don't know this comes close.

I love watching Asher play. He has improved so much and is a great player. He really goes after the ball and has a lot of confidence. He scored 6 goals in the last game and was really pumped.

Piper is the smallest on the team. I'm so proud of how she plays. She tries hard and sticks with it.

Asher is 6

Asher turned 6 last week. I love every new stage this kid enters. I remember being pregnant with him and thinking I would be so sad when he hit elementary school and wouldn't be a little guy anymore. That couldn't be further from the truth. It's so much fun watching him change and mature. He is smart and funny. His physical abilities make me so proud. Ashman is so stubborn, which is great when he wants to run a race or save up to buy a boat. It's also still so challenging. I am so excited to see what this year brings for him.

Over the weekend he had his birthday party. We decided to go simple this year considering I am about to have a baby and am just so tired. We rented a bounce house, ordered some pizza, and got a pinata.

Dex had lots of friends who were willing to help him out.

Asher really wanted a chocolate cake. I decided to make it the morning of the party. Unfortunately as I was getting it out of the pan the entire thing crumbled apart. No amount of icing could fix it. Luckily this isn't the first time this particular thing has happened to me, so I made Accident Cake. I put the cake in the crockpot and dumped in the icing and a bag of chocolate chips. I turned it on warm and the entire thing got nice and gooey. I served it with ice cream and it was quite yummy.

Asher had a lot of fun and I'm so glad we had great friends to celebrate with.

First Day of Preschool

Last week Piper and Dexter started preschool. Piper is going 5 days and Dexty is going 3. They were both so excited to go and see all of their friends. Dex loves his backpack and the fact that he is finally big enough to be at school. He is doing great. Today I caught both of them trying to sneak extra snacks into their bags.

Labor Day and Seven Years

Labor Day was our 7th Anniversary. We celebrated last weekend, so we spent our actual anniversary with the kids and some friends at the pool. As we spent the day together I thought about how lucky I am. I married a man who loves me so much more than he did seven years ago. I married someone who is a true partner. He does dishes and most of the cleaning, bath time and stories. He balances me out and dreams with me. I can't imagine life without him, it wouldn't be nearly as fun. Happy Anniversary Nater-gator. I also love you so much more than I did seven years ago.
