Shoes

Both of the kids love to wear our shoes. Piper especially will try on one pair after another. Nate left today for Louisiana. He had to get some new boots and the kids were very excited to try them on.

Asher thought it was fun to jump in them.

Boy Crazy

A few days a week Asher has speech therapy. It goes better if I stay with him so I try to find friends to watch Piper. One friend lives right around the corner and she has three boys who adore Piper. Piper feels the same way about them. She gets all giggly and follows them all around. It's cute now, but I'll probably feel differently if she is still chasing boys in about ten years.

Home away from home

We have been very lucky to have such good friend here in NC. Almost all of our friends are in the Coast Guard and they are far from their families like we are. We all take turns helping each other out. Yesterday we had Asher's little girlfriend from school over while her mom had a baby. Asher loves having friends over and it helps days that are too cold to go outside.

Last week Asher spent the week up at Gramma and Grampa's house. He had a blast and I enjoyed some alone time with Piper. She was VERY excited for his return and has been following him around the house. Overall he has a hard time being nice to her, but he is starting to enjoy playing with her a little bit.

Cravings

Eating for me has been different in every pregnancy. With Asher I could only eat one food at a time. For about two weeks I craved mozzarella sticks and that was all I ate. I went through a lot of foods like that: pizza, rice-a-roni, hamburgers. It was similar with Piper. For a long time I craved cheetos and milk and literally ate that for breakfast, lunch, and dinner for about a month. This pregnancy hasn't been as extreme. Most of the time I just struggle with finding something appealing. A few weeks ago Nate and I were watching a show and the characters were eating fried chicken. Immediately I thought I have to eat that right now. We decided to make it ourselves and it was awesome. I also made coleslaw and biscuits.
Asher was a pretty big fan as well.

Bounce House

When we were at my parents we took the kids to an indoor bounce house place. Asher loves going to these and it's the perfect place for my little boy with endless energy. It usually takes him a bit to warm up, but then it's hard to get him to leave.

I went down the slide with him a few times, but being pregnant and climbing up them isn't too much fun.

Piper enjoyed hanging out with her daddy. She is such a relaxed little girl, and is fine in any situation.

Hershey Park

While we were away we were able to do a lot of things with the kids. We took Asher to Hershey Park and he loved it. He has a blast going on rides and he was the only one who didn't complain about the cold (it was freezing). Asher looked like a pin ball the entire time, running around from one ride to another. He was also excited to get chocolate after the tour through the chocolate factory.

New Jersey

We just got back from spending two weeks in PA for Christmas. We had a great time and got to see most of our relatives. We spent a day in New Jersey with Nate's grandparents. They live right on the water and the kids loved being able to walk around.

Piper in her puffy coat.

I now have the task of unpacking everything. After we unloaded the car it looked like Christmas vomited all over the living room. That's what happens since Nate and I both come from large family's who give the kids lots of presents.
